The City of Lauderdale Lakes is thrilled to announce the 17th Annual Black History Month Parade and Festival, set to take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025. This exciting and vibrant celebration will honor the rich cultural heritage and history of the African American community. The festivities will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. with a lively and spirited parade, which will start at Boyd H. Anderson High School, located at 3050 NW 41st St, Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33309. The parade will wind its way through the heart of the community, concluding at Vincent Torres Park, located at 4331 NW 36th Street, Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33311.
This year's festival promises to be a day filled with a dynamic range of activities, entertainment, and community engagement. A key highlight of the event is our very own "Black Market," a one-of-a-kind marketplace featuring local vendors, artists, and entrepreneurs. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a variety of goods and services that celebrate African American heritage and culture.
The theme for this year’s celebration is "Black Versatility," a powerful tribute to the diversity and adaptability of African American contributions across various fields, from art and music to entrepreneurship and social activism. Join us for an unforgettable day that will showcase the strength, creativity, and achievements of the Black community, as we come together in celebration and reflection.
